Alex McKenzie travels from Flint, Michigan to Barbados to comfort her father, Parker Lam, an aging literary lion only to be confronted by him about why she gave up on her own literary talent too soon. In this moving short starring Jim Beaver and Sharon Garnier a father and daughter struggle with words in order to avoid saying how they truly feel. The Silence of Bees is the prologue to the full length award-winning play of the same name. The play itself was inspired by a dream of a conversation between novelist Richard Yates and his daughter.
